Annie’s clock: a fully chromatic, tunable clock – with sustains!
It all started in 2017, when I took over as the music director of a choir. At the end of the year one of the altos, Annie, gave me a clock. To this day I’m not quite sure whether the gesture was along the lines of ‘I’ve enjoyed being in the choir‘, or a testament to my then-habit of arriving only a few minutes before each rehearsal started, to remind me to arrive a little bit earlier.
This clock has two parts; a ‘short’ component containing the ‘tick’ of the clock and a ‘long’ component – effectively an infinite reverb of the short, which could be a cross between a mellotron and tape hiss.
